Barrington High School (BHS) is a public four-year high school located ten miles from Providence, Rhode Island. The school’s mission focuses on the development of students’ love for life-long learning, as well as their ability to think critically, communicate clearly, and take risks willingly to realize their potential.
In addition to meeting state graduation requirements, BHS students must complete a Senior Project with includes a research project comprised of fieldwork, and an oral presentation. Students participating in Advanced Placement courses qualify at a rate of 97 percent.
BHS offers a choice-filled curriculum tailored to a wide spectrum of instruction, ranging from English language learners to Honors and AP courses for highly qualified students. Students may earn college credits through participation in several partnership programs including: Concurrent courses, taught by university instructors; Dual Enrollment, taught by high school instructors; Early Enrollment through Rhode Island College; Running Start through Community College of Rhode Island; and other programs.
