Graham Reid's Hecticube started out quite differently to what he's presenting to us today.

It was originally made to celebrate the 2014 World Cup. Reid's idea was that "it would be cool to make an advanced version of Pong with a World Cup theme to commemorate it."

The result was called "World Cuppong" and can still be played in your browser. In it, you can move your player, which is the paddle, around freely in your half of the pitch. Your aim is to score by bouncing a ball into your opponent's goal, of course.

As the excitement around the World Cup died down, Reid decided to rework his little game with a view to bring a competitive experience to mobile.

Hence we have Hecticube. Now, each player shoots projectiles from their end of their pitch towards their opponent's goal.

Typically, there are bullets flying everywhere as both players try to manipulate the ball from a distance.

As well as the shooting, the other big change is that the goal is a solid platform rather than a hole. It has to be hit with the ball several times to eliminate it, shrinking with every hit.

Hecticube will support single player with an AI opponent as well as single-screen multiplayer. It will also have a number of visual themes to choose from.

It will be coming to iOS and Android soon. It'll be a single price and will contain no IAPs. You can find out more about Hecticube on its website.

Announced more than a year ago, the colourful indie game Abi will be coming exclusively to iOS later this week.

Abi is a beautifully desolate puzzler which takes place in future-Earth, only all life had died out leaving robots as the last remaining beings. Playing as Abi and DD, you'll help them search for their friends and figure out what happened to the world they used to know.

A couple of months ago the game came first place at the Big Indie Pitch at ChinaJoy. You'll have to switch between Abi, a smaller, smarter robot, and DD, a larger, industrial robot, to figure out and complete the puzzles.

Coming to iPhone and iPad on November 2nd, it'll be a premium title at £2.99/$2.99.

Psychoz Interactive has told us that a "Director's Cut" version of its Bronze Award-winning horror adventure Forgotten Memories is on its way.

It'll be coming to PS Vita, PS3, and PS4 in early 2016.

An iOS version of the Director's Cut will come afterwards. But note that it won't replace Forgotten Memories: Alternate Realities on the App Store - it'll be a separate download.

However, the Director's Cut will only be available for higher-end iOS devices.

The reason for that restriction being that the Director's Cut will have improved graphics the older devices won't be able to support.

It'll also have improved AI, combat, controls, mechanics, UI, with new areas, interactions, boss battles, and CGs added too.

"We've also fixed remaining English localization issues and the game is now localized in all major languages including French, Spanish, German, Chinese and Japanese," Psychoz tells us.
Halloween sale
That's not all the news Psychoz had for us today. Forgotten Memories: Alternate Realities is also on sale for Halloween.

Today (October 29th), you can pick it up for the sale price of 79p / 99c.

But that price is only for today as each day will see another dollar added to that sale price until it returns to the full price of £4.49 / $5.99 once again.

So if you want to get it at its cheapest grab it today over on the App Store.
tdgameclub.com
One evening Gilbert abruptly proposed that they go down and see Captain Jim. With a sinking heart Anne agreed, and they set forth. Two weeks of kind sunshine had wrought a miracle in the bleak landscape over which Gilbert's crow had flown. The hills and fields were dry and brown and warm, ready to break into bud and blossom; the harbor was laughter-shaken again; the long harbor road was like a gleaming red ribbon; down on the dunes a crowd of boys, who were out smelt fishing, were burning the thick, dry sandhill grass of the preceding summer. The flames swept over the dunes rosily, flinging their cardinal banners against the dark gulf beyond, and illuminating the channel and the fishing village. It was a picturesque scene which would at other times have delighted Anne's eyes; but she was not enjoying this walk. Neither was Gilbert. Their usual good-comradeship and Josephian community of taste and viewpoint were sadly lacking. Anne's disapproval of the whole project showed itself in the haughty uplift of her head and the studied politeness of her remarks. Gilbert's mouth was set in all the Blythe obstinacy, but his eyes were troubled. He meant to do what he believed to be his duty; but to be at outs with Anne was a high price to pay. Altogether, both were glad when they reached the light--and remorseful that they should be glad.
