What rounds, what bounds, what course, what stop he makes!"

Arachnowopunk’s developer, Elsif Games, has made the decision to make the game free on Google Play for Android. The decision is accompanied by an update that includes some quality of life changes.

Arachnowopunk is an auto-runner where you play as a spider trying to escape the dark confines of a suburban house. As you’re a spider, you’re able to travel on all sides of whatever surface you come into contact with, and you’ll need to dodge deadly machinery and looming spikes as you carefully time your inputs to dodge these obstacles and make your way through.

The latest update to Arachnowopunk comes with some new features, most of them quality of life changes to help ease new players into the game. The patch includes some user interface changes, and a single cosmetic in-app purchase for unlockable hats and other accessories. The game originally launched earlier this year at a premium price of just £1, but now that it’s free more players will perhaps have a gander at it.

When Arachnowopunk launched in September, Catherine reviewed it by saying: “The whole game has made me rethink spiders in general, because what if they want us to leave them alone as much as we want them to leave? What if they’re not so bad, after all? What if it’s the stupid white balls and the annoying spikes and the really long jumps that are the real culprits here? And while we’re at it, what exactly is the meaning of life?”

If you want to get as pensive as Catherine did, you can now play Arachnowopunk by downloading it for free on Google Play for Android. It is a free to play title with in-app purchases.
If you love auto runners you might want to read our list where we've listed some of the best ones to play on Android.

Indie developer Alain Becam is releasing NYAF on Steam next month, but there’s a playable parody available now on Android.

NYAF is a gorgeous, hand-painted, hidden object game featuring enjoyable and relaxing music. Your task is to find hidden characters on these hand painted backgrounds, earning coins that can be used to buy two dogs that help you find them. There are eight levels of difficulties available, so you should have no trouble finding a setting that works for you should the game prove to be too easy or too hard.

Meanwhile, YAF is the name of the Android version, self-described as a game where the paywalls are part of the game. You must find the dollars to buy updates, or buy dogs to find the dollars for you. If you get stuck, you can buy the fake in-app purchases to get some help, or even find a way around it. Collecting enough dollars will also let you use the second shop to update your hero. He’s alone against a vast army of paintball warriors, so he’ll need all the strength he can muster.

Alain Becam started programming when he was eleven years old, combining game development with science-related programming, a passion which kept on well into his adulthood, continuing to develop computer games that have been published on itch. NYAF and YAF is his first release outside of that storefront.

You can download YAF from the Google Play for Android store for free. It contains ads, but there are no in-app purchases aside from the fake ones that fuel the gameplay. A Steam version of NYAF, which is slightly different from YAF, releases 9th November.
Interested in Halloween? Towards this afflicted fancy fastly drew;

With Google Stadia’s November launch rapidly approaching, Stadia’s director of product, Andrey Doronichev, held a Reddit AMA to answer some of the many, many questions and concerns that have swirled around the new gaming platform ever since it was first announced.

First off, Doronichev clears up that Google Stadia’s Pro tier isn’t intended to be “Netflix for games”, but rather a service akin to PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold. The idea is that you’ll get special offers and one “free” game a month, with the first being Destiny 2, an almost 2-year-old title that can now be picked up for around £5. The Pro tier costs around $10 a month.
